Drug and alcohol abusers face two ultimate options: sobriety, or death.
Substance abuse is a progressively worsening condition which, over time, rarely offers up opportunities and windows of time for drug rehab and alcohol treatment. Truthfully, the “right time” for treatment is whenever the individual is willing to go—these moments are sometimes few and fleeting.
When these windows of opportunity arise, it is important not only to act quickly, but also to find a good rehab program that will get the results you desperately need.
Tools For Swift Rehab Entry
You may have heard the term “rock bottom.” This is used to describe moments when addicts feel that they cannot possibly get any worse off in life. Sometimes drug addicts and alcoholics find these rock bottom situations (usually precipitated by a tragic loss or other emergency) as motivation for getting help. Others continue to insist they do not have a problem and refuse help.
In either situation, you may consider the procedure of an intervention to be vastly helpful.
• Family Interventions can be conducted in a casual, home setting where key family members are invited to share their wishes for the substance abuser. This is an exercise of “strength in numbers,” and is extremely effective as a resource for encouragement for the loved one, to get help.
• Professional Interventions are conducted with the help of trained professional interventionists who travel to the addict and get him/her to agree to get help. Interventionists vary and usually operate independently, but can be very successful at tracking down a missing loved one and persuading them to get the help they need.
Getting positive results in rehab begins with getting the person into rehab. We encourage families to do whatever is needed to get their loved one into treatment. This fight can be challenging at times, but don’t give up.
Individualized Treatment Methods
We believe that because no addiction is exactly the same as another’s, no treatment program should be either. Everything on the Narconon program (from program length to independent course exercises) is approached individually.
Each of the life skills steps include opportunities for personal growth in areas which are of particular importance to the student on the program.
Some of the life skills subjects taken up on the program include:
• Communication
• Personal ethics
• Integrity
• Relationship building
• Peer selection
• Morals
Students are given the opportunity to explore their past misdoings and restore broken relationships/burnt bridges. Our treatment experts then encourage personal development of values and steps to resolving any dangerous or potentially life-threatening situation.
Many of the Narconon program steps are tools which, taken home and applied, ensure sobriety and consistency even in the challenge of returning home.
By tackling the addiction or alcoholism problem from a number of different angles, success becomes much more real. Addiction is not an incurable disease, but rather a condition brought on by series of bad choices.
Given the correct tools to live better, any addict can turn his/her life around.
Narconon Program Results
Success rates from the Narconon program are some of the highest in the industry. Independent studies indicate that at least 70% of our graduates continue to live happy, healthy, productive and drug free lives months and years after treatment.
A large portion of the program’s success is due to Narconon’s biophysical approach to dealing with physical addiction. Many programs overlook the importance of resolving dependency on a cellular level.
Narconon students work hard to achieve success on their programs which continues to transfer into their post-rehab lives. This has been the case for over 40 years, and we look forward to healing many more addicted lives in the years to come.
