The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) has since 1966 provided independent accreditation services to organizations working in the field of health and human services. The organization serves almost 50,000 programs in upwards of 22,000 locations across the continents of North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia. Through its consultative accreditation process, CARF fulfills its mission to further the value, quality and outcomes of human and health services; supporting and enhancing improvement of such programs and services being delivered. Through the accomplishment of their mission, CARF enhances the lives of those people it services.
Accreditation by CARF
CARF’s high-level standards for treatment programs and their related services are set by the Board of Directors of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. It is these standards which are designed to ensure results of high quality and truly rehabilitated individuals.
Participating in and receiving CARF accreditation is a lengthy and complex process which requires dedication and commitment on the part of the leadership and staff of the facility. It requires, as well, a high degree of willingness on the part of leadership and staff to maintain and execute the ongoing efforts directed towards a continued improvement in the program, delivery and services of the facility accredited.
CARF accreditation is of great value, and it is a sign of a service provider’s commitment to continually improving its services and its commitment to serving the community.
Narconon Centers Excel
Two Narconon centers were recently highlighted for their excellence by receiving their CARF accreditation; Narconon Arrowhead of Canadian, Oklahoma and Narconon Redwood Cliffs of Watsonville, California.
Narconon Arrowhead
Narconon Arrowhead is the flagship center of the worldwide network of Narconon centers, known for its dedication to truly rehabilitating those individuals struggling with substance abuse.
The center delivers the holistic and drug-free Narconon program, as well as providing drug preventions education materials and presentations. Its drug rehabilitation program is directed towards taking the person all the way from his or her beginning step of drug-free withdrawal, to being able to live a sober and productive life after rehab.
Narconon Arrowhead is known for its diligence in improving its program delivery and its outcome results. Its maintenance of a high standard of delivery coupled with its effective level of self-corrections lends itself to the valuable benefits of CARF consultative accreditation.
In November of 2013, Narconon Arrowhead earned its most recent 3-year CARF accreditation, with the CARF report noting the center both meets many of the high standards set by CARF as well as exceeding the CARF standards in the area of organization management.
A 3-year accreditation is highest level of certification awarded by CARF.
Narconon Redwood Cliffs
This California-based center recently received its 3-year CARF accreditation, as well.
Based on a thorough inspection and examination of all parts of the center including the curriculum, the detoxification services, and extensive interviews with staff members, clients currently receiving rehabilitation services as well as center graduates of the rehab program, CARF made the determination to award its highest level of certification.
As part of its awarding accreditation, CARF submitted a “strengths summary” to the Redwood Cliffs center as a means of identifying and validating the positive points found by inspectors in their tour and inspection of the facility.
Highlighted amongst the many strengths noted by the inspectors were the caring and knowledgeable staff–found to be comprehensively trained and truly passionate about their purpose and goal to help every person on the program to achieve sobriety.
CARF also cited the highlights of delicious food and an inviting atmosphere which serves to create a home-like feeling for those receiving rehab services at the center.
Both Narconon Arrowhead and Narconon Redwood Cliffs will continue their tradition of recognized excellence in rehabilitation services, dedicated to helping those individuals struggling with substance abuse.
