Drug-Free Future Day Proclamation to Narconon from City of Brentwood
Proclamation
BUILDING A DRUG FREE FUTURE DAY
Whereas; alcohol and drug abuse is a serious problem in our society to the degree that one out of five adult Americans has an alcohol or drug problem that requires treatment; and,
Whereas; for twenty-six years the worldwide Narconon network has been a leader in the fight against drug and alcohol abuse through its education and rehabilitation services; and,
Whereas; there are many valiant individuals and groups in the greater bay area that are working to rid our society of the problem of alcohol and drug abuse whose activities are worthy of recognition; and,
Whereas; Narconon of northern California will bestow awards of merit upon certain of these individuals and groups on September 25, 1993:
Now, I, Art Gonzales, Mayor of the city of Brentwood, California, do hereby proclaim September 25, 1993, as
BUILDING A DRUG FREE FUTURE DAY
in our city and urge all citizens to join in the cause to ensure the well-being of this and all future generations by taking a strong personal stand against alcohol and drug abuse.
