New London, Connecticut, Proclaims Alcohol and Drug Awareness Month May 15th-June 30th, 1979
Proclamation
WHEREAS; Social Service organizations have united to fight drug/alcohol abuse in the City of New London; and
WHEREAS; These agencies are: Big Brothers/Sisters, Board of Education, Catholic Charities, Child and Family Agency, Community Resources Commission, Crisis Center, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Family Relations Court, Family Services, P/PREP, Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, March of Dimes, Narconon Connecticut, Inc., New London Police Department, New London Youth Development, Nuestra Casa, SACO, SCADD, TVCCA, Women’s Center, YMCA, YWCA and
WHEREAS; These agencies work together to provide prevention, education, counselling and other supportive services to New London residents who are exposed to drug/alcohol abuse; and
WHEREAS; These agencies are actively working together to combat drug abuse in New London;
NOW, THEREFORE I, Carl Stoner, Mayor of New London, do hereby proclaim May 15th - June 30th, 1979 as
ALCOHOL AND DRUG AWARENESS MONTH
in New London, Connecticut, and urge all citizens to become familiar with the good works of these programs and support them in the fight against drug/alcohol abuse in our city.
