City of Los Angeles Commends Narconon
City of Los Angeles State of California
Resolution
Whereas,
Narconon
has been operating programs for eight years for the purpose of prevention of drug abuse and crime and the rehabilitation of those who have become dependent on drugs or alcohol; and
Whereas, Narconon programs are conducted in Narconon centers, penal institutions, halfway houses, churches, and schools in various locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico; and
Whereas, drug-free detoxification is a basic element in Narconon’s methods of withdrawing persons from heroin and barbituates without the use of other medications and in a relatively painless manner; and
Whereas, the problem of addiction to heroin and barbituates has not been satisfactorily solved and better solutions are urgently needed; and
Whereas, Narconon believes its heroin and barbituate withdrawal methods show great promise in being a significant breakthrough in this area:
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Los Angeles City Council hereby commend Narconon in its efforts to continue and expand its methods of heroin and barbituate withdrawal without the use of other drugs; and
Be it further resolved, that the Los Angeles city council wish every success to Narconon in its efforts to rehabilitate those who have become dependent on drugs.
