Narconon Puebla
Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center
Narconon Puebla brings the possibility of a new sober life to those in Central Mexico with a beautiful new rehab center outside Huachinango.
In a country plagued by drug trafficking, rehabilitation facilities for helping lost souls recover their lives is a vital necessity. Narconon Puebla in Central Mexico is a valuable resource for families whose loved ones’ very lives are threatened by addiction. It is located just outside Huachinango which sits about two hours from Mexico City and 90 minutes from Veracruz.
Huachinango in northern Puebla was carved out of a lush forest in the rugged Sierra Norte de Puebla mountains. The property dedicated to Narconon Puebla is blessed with a beautiful view of the lake created by the Necaxa Dam. The buildings that house accommodations and administrative offices are situated on a sunny hillside a few miles north of town. This is a location where a person can catch his (or her) breath, where he can begin to heal from the terror, despair and trauma that an addicted person suffers. This is where hope grows day by day until finally, there is a new, sober life to be lived.
People new to a drug rehab are commonly in low spirits, perhaps even desperate. They might feel like they can never recover but they are there anyway, since just a tiny glimmer of hope remains. They’ve heard that this program is different from others so maybe there’s a possibility of success this time. Once they are through a well-supported withdrawal, they will begin the New Life Detoxification. This step utilizes time in a dry-heat sauna, nutritional supplementation that aids detoxification and moderate daily exercise to flush out toxins left behind from drug and alcohol use.
Those working on this step often say they can sense old drug residues being washed out of their bodies. When they feel they are no longer the effect of these toxic/drug residuals affecting them and they are bright and have a better outlook, they will move on to the next step. This improved outlook on life is an excellent start on their new, sober life.
The Location and Grounds
This center is located outside of town for a good reason. A quiet, private location helps a person focus on their own recovery during this time of change. They are able to leave the noise and confusion of the city behind and enjoy the sounds of birds and the quiet song of the wind. This calmness helps a person heal from his past experiences.
All around there are woods, walking paths and lawns. A series of cabanas were built especially for the purpose of housing those in recovery. Each cabana has its own bathroom and living room. An administration building provides offices, classrooms and the sauna. Three terraces offer places to relax after the day’s services are done or to visit with family members who have come to show their support.
Also, those in recovery will find a swimming pool for cooling off in the hot months. A gym is available for those participating in the sauna-based detoxification step so they can get their blood flowing faster, enhancing their ability to detoxify those old drug residues.
Classrooms for Life Skills Study
In addition to the lovely environment and the detoxification facilities, Narconon Puebla has classrooms where those in recovery become students of sober living. The conversion from addiction to lasting sobriety means leaving old habits and coping methods behind. Now, new skills need to be learned to enable each person to manage his life capably, without the need to seek solace in drugs or alcohol.
Day by day in the Narconon Puebla classrooms, each person learns how to let go of guilt and anger. Gradually, each student gains the ability to be responsible for himself, perhaps for the very first time. This shift is essential for a person to achieve happiness that will support his long-term sobriety.
Finally, the day will come to leave Narconon Puebla and return home. As each person departs, he or she takes with them the fresh new viewpoint and all the life skills gained while residing at this remarkable drug rehabilitation center.
